More Pre-K stuff

Well, Liam just turned five, so I decided to go back and check out the list of things a graduated pre-k student should know, and update it while I was there. I marked all the "completed" tasks in purple, and the other things we need to work on in a darker text. I was actually amazed at how much Liam has learned since February! Today when I went in most of the stuff was not yet completed, and now there is less than 10 things we need to work on. I guess it's time to move on to kindergarten stuff for this five year old (by the way, he loves being five.)

Liam has made quite a few "girl" friends in the past little while, and I honestly believe that because of these girls Liam is growing mentally. Girls do a lot of "pretend" play, you know, house, mommy and baby, shopping, and now Liam is teaching Ezra all of those games. Watching these kids grow is so much fun!

Happy 5th Birthday Liam!!!

We kind of go all out on birthday's here and the kids get a little more birthday then normal. Liam's birthday started out a month ago when he got his two kitties Sora, and Kairi, and it just kind of escalated from there.
A couple weeks before his birthday Nana and Papa came out (which you can see in previous blogs) for a visit, and to be with him before his birthday. They got rooms at the Golden Nugget which has the Shark Tank swimming pool, and because he loved it so much they bought him a room for his birthday so he could swim to his hearts content. They also sent Cheyanne up to share it with him. It was so fun having her here!
The Sunday before his birthday Auntie Della came up with her oldest daughters Brittany and Chelsea and we had a little party for Liam and Jake over at the Skinners house. We ate the delicious cake that Nana and Liam made during the Nana and Papa visit. I was really impressed with Liam because I let him have free range of his cake after he blew out the candles and after licking two he shared the rest with the kids around him.
On Monday we had to take Cheyanne back to the airport, when she was safely there (her plane was delayed for hours because of several electrical storms in both NV and Montana where she was flying) we met up with Della, Chelsea, and Brittany at the Olive Garden for a nice little pre-birthday meal. Two waitresses sang to him and gave him his own bowl of ice cream. After that we got to swim in Della's pool at the hotel, and then we went to Fremont street, just for fun.
This morning was the start of Liam's "real" birthday, after all, he was born five years ago today.... wow. Five years old. For something fun to do we got out a roll of butcher paper and traced Liam and Ezra so they could color their "life size Me's" and had a blast. After words we made party hats for the cutouts and the boys got to tape them on their posters.

To Liam's dismay Mo-Mo was trying to help color his boy, so we drew him a little stick boy and let him color it. He thought that was fantastic.
After we cut out the life size boys and held them up Mo was terrified. He kept pointing at Ezra's and going "roar, roar!" After we stuck them on the door Mo was running down to his room to see what was going on and he saw Liam's poster at the end of the hall and he went into hysterics, screaming, crying and pointing. It took me a minute to figure out why he was so scared. Poor kid!
Tonight we will have "chicken on a stick" (Liam's favorite) for dinner and ice cream. He will be allowed to open his gifts from Nana and Papa. Next Saturday is his party.... his "Super Hero" party. He is inviting over some friends and he will get the remainder of his gifts (and yet another cake) then.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIAM!!!!!!!!

Precious Treasures of Kym Marie

For Kym's birthday Tasha suggested making a book of letters from her family. Aunt Sandra's letter came with a pretty border which inspired us to add a border to every letter. Most of these borders were donated by Vanessa. Bill thought it would be great if we added a picture to each letter. Bill and I mastered photoshop so that we could make some of the individual letters have things that "pop out". Feel free to click on any of the letters to get a closer view.

Happy Birthday again Kym. We loved having you here and spending time with you. Enjoy your book (both online and off).

Crazy Grandparents

So after my parents got home to Canada they decided that they didn't get enough of us and they got in their car, drove all night and all day and met us in Vegas for one more day of fun! Okay, they also came to pick up a boat motor my Dad bought on eBay, but still, they were just here! We were so happy to have them come back though, and we had a tonne of fun at the Outlet Mall with them. Nana bought some really really really cute shoes, and Papa took the boys on the carousel.

Freemont with Nana and Papa

Nana and Papa got a hotel right on Freemont so we had delicious buffets, lots of fun, and we even got to swim in "The Shark Tank" at the Golden Nugget. It was a fun weekend. Love you guys!

Lied's Children Museum

We went to a couple Museum's with my folks when they were here. One of them being Lied's. The kids had so much fun... and so did we! It's basically a science museum, and lots of fun. My favorite part was the bubble center, where you can make ginormous bubbles, put yourself inside bubbles, and I taught the boys that if they got their arms and hands wet first they could even blow bubbles through their fingers and hold bubbles in their hands. Ezra loved the ball tubes, where you stick a ball in this tube and it gets sucked into the air and falls down even more tubes and stuff. They had this huge stringless harp that had lazer eyes instead and made actual harp music. They have these water tables as well, that you can put plastic inserts into and make tunnels to float rubber duckies down. They only had one duck, so we raced two tubes of lip gloss. Mosiah loves to color, it's one of his favorite things, so he loved the table that lights up and you put a paper on it and draw. I think it's for tracing, but he just loved to draw all over his paper. Nana kept his artwork as a souvenier. They had this green screen where you can play sports like volleyball, hockey, and socker, and then it's broadcasted on a big screen tv so everyone can watch. That was Liam's favorite. I think Bill really enjoyed playing with the balls with Ezra. They also had this wind tunnel that reaches really high wind speeds, you feel like you're in a hurricane. That was cool. We did the karaoke room with Nana, and we sang lots of fun songs, including "Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" and "Wheels on the bus". Anyways, lots of cool stuf, as you can see.
