Andy's Birthday and a sneak peek

The homeschool group here had a Halloween party last week so the boys got to wear their costumes early, which was so exciting for them. That also meant that I had to be done their costumes a week early, but somehow it worked out. In case you didn't notice, our theme this year is The Wizard of Oz. I am currently making Dorothy's costume, who will be played by none other than Kelly Peavoy. I did not make Mosiah's Lion costume, it was given to us for Christmas last year. It probably would have been cooler to make our own, but definatly more stressful, so we went with the pre-made one. More pictures to come after Halloween, with Dorothy and Toto included, with a possibility of the Wicked Witch of the West and The all-powerful Wizard of Oz. For now, enjoy these little cuties.
After the party we took naps to get ready for Andy's birthday party and pumpkin carving party. He got some sweet gifts and a cool cake. He turned four on the 28th, Happy Birthday Andy! The pumpkin carving was fun. We let the kids paint theirs, and use markers, and then we cut a couple of them out. Our boys still had their makeup on from their party.
Vanessa carved this little pumpkin and I said he looked just like Sonny.
Ezra (and Daddy's) masterpiece.
Jake carved a pirate ship.
Bill and I have been married for 6 years, and in those 6 years he has only ever carved a pumpkin once... until last week. He decided to do his own pumpkin this year, AND he decided that if he was going to do it, it had to be awesome, so he carved "Bella and Edward". You've gotta love it!The day after the party Ezra saw the Halloween makeup on the table, and decided to do his own makeup. I had no idea what he was doing, just that he kept running back and forth between the kitchen table and Grandma's mirror. When I finally stopped doing my makeup long enough to check it out he looked like this. I'm sure he would have been "much prettier" if I hadn't noticed when I did.

San Felipe Mexico

San Felipe Mexico - The Story

We had the chance to go to Mexico with my parents, Nana and Papa (Joan and Bill), and my little sister Cheyanne. The boys were so excited to go to the beach and it's all they talked about for the whole week prior to our trip.

On the way up we stopped at some sand dunes for lunch, and they were so cool. Who knew that our lunch stop would end up being the most favorite part of my whole trip? Every once in a while a group of dune buggies, motor bikes, or quads would go past us, and it was just way to cool. It was so beautiful, and our lunch was fantastic!

The beach was awesome, when the tide was out you could walk for miles and never find the ocean. We found all sorts of insanely cool shells, and we even found whole dead crabs. Ezra and Papa found the first one and when they brought it to us so we could see it we all thought it was alive (Ez was holding it) and there was a lot of screaming and freaking out. Ezra was so sad that no one liked his new friend and he started to bawl. After Papa explained that it was dead, and safe we all called him back over, apologized and took pictures.

We bought matching t-shirts in the markets, visited the Eldorado Ranch's pool, stayed in an awesome casita, watched the full moon, ate wonderful food, and had a great time.

Happy Birthday Mattea

Tomorrow is my littlest sister Mattea's birthday. This picture is from FOREVER ago (hint hint.... time to update your blog family).

Mattea, I hope your day is incredible tomorrow, and that your parents buy you a horse. Okay, it probably won't quite work that way, but we can dream right? At least you can have a great day and eat some yummy cake and something else.

Love you so much!!!!

P.S. notice the cool background, made especially for you. xoxoxox

A little about Mattea: Mattea is such a cutie, her hair was super long when I met her and very blonde, the last time she came to visit she had it short, and so stylin'! Mattea loves horses. When she comes to visit she always swims in the pool, even when she has to chip the ice off the top of it to get in, her nephew Liam is the same way. The boys love it when Aunty Mattea comes to visit, and they do everything they can to drive her insane, but she still loves them 'cause they're hers.

Green Toes

Cats and Caterpillars

One of our fruit trees was infested by 8 billion caterpillars this last week and my boys were absolutely fascinated by them. They wouldn't leave them alone. The bugs completely stripped the tree of all green-ness and took off. I wonder if we'll have 8 billion butterflies soon... hmmm.
Anyways, we went to take some pictures of the tiny creatures, and our cats said they wanted some camera time too. Kairi (pronounced Kye-ree) is our black kitty, and Sora is the orangey one. Myrrh was so not in the mood for pictures... as usual.
And then, of course, the boys always need a couple of pictures too. After all, they are the cutest creatures around here.

Fall Festival

Okay, so every fall there is a huge festival here with rides, and booths, and a midway, and lots of greasy foods. We have never gone before, but Bill's foam company had a booth this year so we got to hang out quite a bit. We didn't do the rides (they cost $31 per person.... yes even for 2 year olds) but we did check out the 4H animal display, and we met this guy...
I didn't catch his name, as he wasn't very talkative, but I did find out later that he weighed in at 773 pounds. That's a lot of bacon!!!

I just thought I'd show off Bill's foam insulation booth, I thought it was the coolest one at the festival. Everyone wanted to touch it and poke it. The guy in the pictures is Micah (with a "C" not a "K") one of the "foam sprayers" and "Cabinet installers", and the dog is his, Simba.

Thanks for the Help!!!!

We are so grateful for the response we got to our baby name post. We had so many comments (if you want to have a good laugh you should go check them out, some are really funny... Spencer....). We are taking most of the names suggested into consideration, and we have created a poll to see who likes what. Mikah seemed to have the biggest support group, but that was before we added all the other names.

Now, to single some of you crazy commenter's out...

No, Radelle, we cannot name our baby Rockwell.... that's your baby's name!!!!! (winks)

It was pointed out that Mikah is actually spelled with a "c", and I did know that, but I really like it with a K... I don't know, I just like the letter "K" o"k"ay?

Vanessa noted that if we call him Obidiah she can call him Obi Wan Kanobi (by the way, the plan is to call him Obi), which for you non Star Wars fans, is a Jedi, and he also goes by the name Ben, which as Vanessa pointed out, goes well with Franklin.

Spencer said to add a "hah" on the end, much like in the Book of Mormon (Moronihah... and others). He also added some of the names in our poll.

Krystal, among other suggestions, added Kimball, noting that he would be named after me, and seeing as we may never had a girl, we definitely need to get my name in there somewhere.

A couple of names were suggested that we vetoed because, as I'm sure you've noticed, our boys don't have very common names, and I don't think it would be quite fair to have a Liam, an Ezra, a Mosiah, and a Jim, or Dave or Bobby. Joseph was also suggested, and it has been considered, but the boys already have a cousin named Joseph, so we ruled it out.

Soooooo, thanks again everyone, now go vote. If you had another name you wanted to suggest put it in the comments and it could get added to the poll!
